Reading This Week

As I have been finishing quite a few books recently there was no point putting up my weekly " reading this week" post , as they had been the same books you had seen a lot of recently , but as I have some new books to dig into this week I thought I would show you what I hope to read . Enjoy!
Hyyge by Marie Tourell Soderberg. I really got into the idea of hygge this year and have read multiple books about it . This book is beautiful and I can't wait to know more .

The Chilbury Ladies Choir by Jennifer Ryan ... Small town village life ... Yep I want more of this cosy type of reading this week!
Miss Treadway & The Field Of Stars by Miranda Emmerson .

Reading This Weekend

In my part of the world it's a very chilly day with occasional bouts of snow and hailstones ... The fire is on ... the soup is in the slow cooker ....there is crochet and books by my side and a creamy curry for dinner . Half the house has been cleaned the other half did not need it ;0) .
By the way , how great are all the new drinks from Costa Coffee . They have done a great job of making delicious drinks and beautiful containers again this year .

In preparation for seeing Fantastic Beasts I have been listening to the first Harry Potter book . I gain a little more from all the series each time I read it or listen to it.
Some parts I had forgotten , and so it gives me that little spark of joy again . I love that!

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. Review book.
Almost finished this book . Love this series! I have been trying to savour it.
Mrs Treadway And The Field Of Stars by Miranda Emmerson . Review Book.
I love Persephone books , this arrived recently and I can't wait to dig into its bookish loveliness .

Mini Preloved Haul

I was in a used book shop this week to see what I could find ...I was talking to this nice nun who found some gems while she was there and we got talking ( as book lovers tend to do) she read me parts of a poetry book she found . It was about a woman and the relationship she had with her mother , it was rocky at best going by the lines that were read to me and I had to wonder why this part sparked so much enthusiasm in this elderly sister . It left me with plenty of fodder for the imagination for the rest of the day let me tell you! Anyway , after a little more chatting she bid me farewell and left me to wandering through the bookshelves .... I found these .
Down With Love by Barbara Novak
Great House by Nicole Krauss
A Passage To India by E.M. Forster
Travels With My Aunt by Graham Greene

My Week

Hi guys! It's been a funny old week , but I finally got a jumper finished that I had been working on so I am saying it's been a reasonably good one . One of the most enjoyable parts of making your own clothing is being able to pick colours and exact sizes that you want . There is something very satisfying about that , and even more so when you complete the last stitch of a long project !

The nights get dark so quick now that I find my reading has increased ....there is something about long dark nights and good books ... Bliss ! I don't know about you , but Autumn and Winter are big reading seasons for me , feel free to leave me recommendations !
There is something very satisfying about walking across lovely crispy leaves on a dry cold day .
My new mug to accompany my hot drinks and books . I love the Gilmore Girls and this mug is perfect! Roll on November 25th!
Some hearty and stomach warming dinners have been gracing my table these past few weeks as the weather has been getting noticbly colder . I have dusted off my own cookbook and have been cooking up plenty of stews and pies with lots of vegetables . It's just the ticket to help fight the colds and infections that have been attacking me recently.

Some other projects I am working on .

Expect some more sneak peeks of some more projects I am working on during the week and future weeks , as well as " Reading This Weekend " on Saturdays ( all going well).

Reading This Weekend

Hi guys! I am reading some excellent books right now . My reading week was a little hit and miss in regard to how much reading I managed to do , but the books themselves were very enjoyable.
I have been reading " The Woman In Cabin 10" by Ruth Ware . I think if you enjoyed "The Woman On The Train ", you will enjoy this.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen. I knew Bruce could write a bloody brilliantly song / album , but this book confirms how good a writer he is. I am about a third of the way in and I love his humour  and laid back attitude . I like that he did not shy away from talking about the not so glamourous parts of his life too . This is a must read for all non fiction fans .
This week the  two audiobooks I will be reading  are going to be " Knitting Yarns by Ann Hood" ........... And

Travels With My Aunt by Graham Greene
Devil's Food Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke. I am finally getting around to this book , after meaning to start it for weeks now. I have loved  precious books in this series so I don't know what is taking me long to start this !

Where Dead Men Meet by Mark Mills . Review

The story begins in Paris in 1937 with a man called Luke Hamilton being the victim of an assassination attempt. Luke works for the air intelligence section of the British embassy . We quickly learn not everything is quite what it seems with Luke , and an epic adventure is about to take place . Crossing many countries during a turbulent time in history Luke has to manage to stay alive while he has any number of men following him eager to snuff him out . Luke's back story is a dark one and one that would not stay hidden !
This was a great story set during one of my favourite times and places in history . It had everything , from people on the run , spy's , the uncertainty of war , a good back story and very satisfying conclusion . What more could you want ! Go read this !

I received this book for review from the lovely people over at Lovereading.co.uk.
This book is being published November 2016 and will be available from Lovereading and all other good bookstores then .
