This is book 5 in the Dewberry Farm Mystery Series . The story is set in Buttercup ,Texas , and the main character is Lucy Resnick . Lucy is an awesome character , she has her own farm in Buttercup where she grows her own crops and keeps a small amount of animals and enjoys many more homesteading habits . I so want to be her bestie :0) When bad weather arrives in the area suddenly it has multiple devastating consequences for Lucy and her neighborhood and it will take more then a broom to clear up this mess.
This series is a favorite of mine , I love the way Karen describes Lucy’s day to day life and especially the connection between Lucy and her grandmother , it was really touching . This does not feel like just a mystery story , it’s much more . These characters are so well described that you end up caring what happens to them especially when there is a good old fashioned villain lurking around . I read this in one sitting and loved every page . It is one of my top favorite mystery series . Go read this as soon as you can , it’s terrific !
