Miss Treadway And The Field Of Stars by Miranda Emmerson. Review

The story is set in London and centred  around  a dresser for the theatre called Anna . Anna becomes very concerned when the actress she has been taking care of suddenly goes missing one day after her work in the theatre . Seemingly the only one who cares , she takes it upon herself to find the mysterious Lanny . 

Although the story is mostly about missing Lanny and Anna's journey in finding her , it also deals with the lives of those who become involved in later searching for her . 

If you like a story that does not give up its secrets easily then this is the story for you! Anna and her friends adventure in finding Lanny takes you to unforgettable places , having unforgettable experiences  and generally keeping the reader on its toes . Sometimes sad with plenty of mystery , it's sure to keep you up to the small hours of the morning in the search for answers !

The Chilbury Ladies Choir by Jennifer Ryan . Review

This is a story about small village life and all the eccentric inhabits at the start of the war . 

The story is primarily told in journal and letter form by a number of people , each documenting their lives in this small town where a remarkable amount of devious things are happening . 

The choir is at the centre of village life and is needed now more then ever to bolster spirits,  but quite a few of the members have there own troubles.

This felt like reading juicy gossip and it was fabulous! There was all kinds of love being thrown about with abandon , lies , danger and hopes and dreams too.

Just about everything you could hope for from a story set at that time . The plot galloped along , but there was a few times I had to pause in reading as I had a lump in my throat , the story does pull at the heartstrings . I recommend this to all fans of war time stories or life in small villages .

A Very Hygge Night In.

I woke up this morning , popped my toe out of the bed and instantly popped it back in again ... Yep it was freezing! 

It's been a day filled with decorating , cooking , cleaning , wrapping ,crochet..... as well as finishing my cards . I am going to be finding glitter on my person until Easter! 

There is a lovely smell of oranges and cranberries from the candle burning in the kitchen and as I type there is a  cottage pie about to go in the oven .

The entire house feels cosy and Christmassy . I love it! The furbabies are keeping an eye on the pie in case I should drop any and would be in need of assistance . :0)

I went to see Fantastic Beasts last week and really enjoyed the story , it was great being back in the wonderful magic world that JK Rowling created . I do hope there will be more films to look forward to as the characters were terrific !

I have been making some crochet decorations recently , cushion covers and jumpers . Here are some jumpers that I am currently working on ... it is very satisfying making jumpers that are exactly the size or length you want! 

It was a long day and now it's time for a good sleep , there is a snoring dog beside me and my eyes are tired ...even a great book on the bedside table is not enough to tempt me to read anymore. Goodnight lovelies, sweet dreams  xxxxxxx 

Reading This Weekend

Well guys did you get through the week in one piece? I hope so! In my part of the world there has been a thick claustrophobic fog hanging about for nearly a week . If ever there was a time to hibernate with all the essentials i( books and hot chocolate) it was now.  

My book planning / reading has never been so fierce! :0) I have been making use of my library in recent months and have been impressed by their online facilities . Check out your own library and see what they offer or go online and see what you can find to read using their online services for ebooks and audiobooks . All you need is your own library card (that the library gives for free) then with your password the literary world is your oyster!

Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinbourough . Review

I quickly learned that the cover of this book pretty much tells you what to expect from this story, untrustworthy narrators with plenty of mystery too! Ahhhhh I loved it ! 

The story is based mostly around three people , Adele, David and Louise. Adele and David are married and Louise works for David who is a doctor  . That is a tiny fraction of the amount of connections these people have to each other , some connections are even unknown to them. This book plays with your mind ...one character is particularly manipulative and that really messes with how much is true in the plot ,but you keep reading because you are not sure if you are right and it's so frickin good !

This story has one jaw dropping twist at the end that left me stunned and going OMG!

Reading This Week

As I have been finishing quite a few books recently there was no point putting up my weekly " reading this week" post , as they had been the same books you had seen a lot of recently , but as I have some new books to dig into this week I thought I would show you what I hope to read . Enjoy!

Hyyge by Marie Tourell Soderberg. I really got into the idea of hygge this year and have read multiple books about it . This book is beautiful and I can't wait to know more .

 Hold Back The Stars by Katie Khan looks like a bit of a romantic story . I am totally up for reading some romance right now.

The Chilbury Ladies Choir by Jennifer Ryan ... Small town village life ... Yep I want more of this cosy type of reading this week!
