Pecan Pies And Dead Guys By Angie Fox . Review

This is book 7 in the southern ghost hunter mystery series featuring Verity Long , ghost hunter . In this book Verity is helping out her long dead mobster ghost friend  Frankie who has got himself into bother and her boyfriend too who needs her help with a murder ! What I loved about this was not only can Verity speak to the dead but she can enter into their world through her connection with Frankie . It was really interesting seeing herself and Frankie enter into that world and how they could interact there . I think if you enjoy your mysteries with a ghostly presence then you would really enjoy this . Verity is a strong character with plenty of gumption and nerves of steel making her a terrific main character . I will certainly be reading more books from this series in the future .

How To Knit A Murder by Sally Goldenbaum . Review

I came upon this series fairly recently and I have to say I really enjoy it . The story is about a group of knitters who are also good friends so when one of them gets into trouble the rest of them are there to  support one another  . The relationship between the members  is a special one and all the knitting talk is just so lovely it’s hard to put down . Mysteries and knitting .... sheer heaven !

In this , book 13 of the seaside knitters society mystery , a new member has joined the group , Rose is a very handy woman to have around and can fix just about anything unless it’s a murder .... that she will need her new friends help with .... especially when the long arm of the law points in her direction .

I loved every page of this , the only trouble was the pages went by too fast and now I have to wait for the next book in the series ;0) . Go read this if you like to mix your mysteries and knitting . Also there is a bonus pattern at the end of the book .

Overkilt by Kaitlyn Dunnett . Review

This is book 12 in the Liss MacCrimmon Mystery Series. The story is set in Moosetookalook in Maine . The plot of this book was terrific , a small town that is suddenly shook up by a group of people who are grievously annoyed by a simple advertising campaign to get more business for a local Bed and Breakfast owner ,simply because they don’t agree because of their own values . The intensity of their hate campaign was eye opening and as we learn more about the campaigners themselves the plot becomes more frightening. This was the first book I have read in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it . This is without a doubt one to add to your TBR pile .

Footsteps In The Dark by Georgette Heyer . Review

If you enjoy a good old fashioned ghost story to keep you up until the wee small hours of the morning then this is the book for you . The story takes place in a large country manor house where a wealthy family have recently moved in despite local rumors of ghosts appearing at the house frightening local residents and the newly established family . The story has everything ! Candle lit hallways , noises and appearances at night , eerie forests and ghostly apparitions. It was SO good ! I happened to read this at night , it did give me that feeling of needing to look over my shoulder and I kind of loved that ! The characters were a colorful bunch of rich family members , friends , and staff and all these with a ghost combined made a great plot that you had to see through to the end as quickly as you can turn the pages to find out what was going to happen . It was terrific , and chilling at times . Add this to your TBR pile immediately you won’t regret it .

The Foyles Bookshop Girls At War by Elaine Roberts .

The story is set during wartime in England and is centered around a group of friends who live and work in London . The ladies work in the fabulous Foyles bookshop but one of them , Molly , decides she wants to do more for the war effort and joins a munition factory where every day you take your life into your own hands in this dangerous profession. The story is a delightful one ,  there was also more then one moment that gave me a lump in my throat . The girls friendship is touching especially all their cosy tea and cake chats at the tea shop . Molly is a bit of a shining star , she is just one of those characters who you instantly love and who is good human to anyone that comes across her path so when she goes through her own troubles your heart goes out to her . All in all if you love books about war time and strong independent women you will likely enjoy this a lot . I loved this . I finished this and bought book 1 , I can’t wait to start it !

Murder Likes It Hot by Tracey Weber . Review

The story is about Kate , she is a yoga teacher and owner of Serenity Yoga . When she gets the chance to earn some much needed extra money helping troubled teens by teaching them yoga she jumps at the chance and here she meets Rainbow , a really smart teen with a big heart and lots of hardships .  I have to say I got really invested in this story , between Kate’s personal problems and Rainbow’s hard life I think it would be near impossible to read this and not care what happened to these characters , there was quite a few time I got a lump in my throat reading this and as soon as I finished it I bought the first book in the series . The writing and plot were a delight and these characters really do stay with you . I loved every page of this book . Go read this immediately!

Hooks Can Be Deceiving by Betty Hechtman . Review

This is book 13 in this crochet mystery series set around the  Tarzana Hookers crochet group who meet weekly in the bookshop in their town to exchange banter and catch up on their crochet . There is quite a few members in their group with a good mix of different personalities which makes it great fun to read about . When one member suddenly dies the rest of the group really feel the loss and do everything they can to help despite also trying to get ready for a tv broadcast of their group with Rory Graham , dance break fanatic and tv star .

This series combines two things I really enjoy , a good mystery and crochet , and we get plenty of both I am glad to say . An added bonus is that recipes and crochet patterns are also included at the back of the book . If you love crafts and mystery stories then this is the book for you !
