The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion. Review

Don is back and funnier then ever in this second book by Graeme Simsion . The first book ,The Rosie Project ,introduced us to the wonderous man that is Don and this story carries on from there. In this book Don and Rosie are expecting a baby and Don is as socially awkward and clinical as usual making the entire story priceless! Life is never dull with Don around ,and this pregnancy could be his biggest challenge in life so far... Even more then dating ever was and that's saying something! Go read this if you want a really good laugh !

I received this book for review from the lovely people over at Lovereading.co.uk .
This book will be published September 2014 and will be available from Lovereading.co.uk and all other good bookstores then.
Below you can follow the link to this book on Lovereading.co.uk.

Not The Killing Type by Lorna Barrett. Review.

Not The Killing Type by Lorna Barrett is book 7 in the Booktown Mystery series set in the town of Stoneham , New Hampshire. It is election time in the town and Tricia's sister Angelica is running in the Chamber Of Commerce elections . The proceedings take a dark turn when someone is found dead and the eye of suspicion falls on Angelica.....
I love this series and read all the books ... this series is set in a book town and for a bookworm like me I can't resist these awesome books with such well written plots and likeable characters . Tricia and Angelica are my favourite characters and I can't get enough of these strong , gutsy women. If you enjoy a good mystery you can't go wrong with this series. From the beautiful cover to the last page it's the perfect cosy read.Go read this immediately !

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore.Review.

Never have aliens been this cool in this young adult book. The story is about a young alien called "John Smith" , John is not your average teenager.John is an Alien , and for an alien he is pretty awesome. The only trouble with living on earth as an alien is having to hide who you are and try and not be killed by those who are out to find you and blow you to smithereens . As you can see life is not easy for John even though he has a minder taking care of him. He spends a lot of time adjusting to new people and places as he has to move around a lot so he won't be found , yet he maintains a good personality and is very likeable . This book is an adrenaline rush and as you know someone is after him the pace stays very fast. I read this very quickly as I wanted to see were his pursuers going to reach him by the end of the book. I could not put this book down. It was SO good!

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. Review

This book is by Patrick Ness from the original idea by Siobhan Dowd.

I had heard so many people rave about this book but what put me off reading it was that I knew it was a story with cancer at the center of it. I now wish I picked this up a long time ago.
The story is about a boy who has a family member with cancer. This effects many parts of his life and really haunts him. This book tells us how he coped with that while he tried to carry on his own life. This is an emotional read , very touching , and worth every tear I shed.
The illustrations in the book alongside the story make it a truly special and magical tale.

When a father is left in charge of his children because his wife has to go away for work there is going to be an adventure or twenty. The book is filled with wonderful pictures of all the characters and I thought the illustrations of Neil as the father was really fun. This would suit young boys or girls who enjoy tales of adventures and magical creatures and places. Think Doctor Who for children.
