The Family by P R Black . Review .

This is probably one of the most frightening books I ever read and it’s safe to say if you love a thriller with the most evil bad guys then look no further then this. The story begins with a gripping opening chapter that is truly unnerving and quickly becomes even more unnerving the more we learn about the main character , her past , and her life now . Few books can carry off a frightening plot for the full duration of a book but this author did it for real . We get glimpses of Becky’s past and there is plenty of descriptions of the crimes in the book and they are not for the faint of heart , the author takes the reader on a terrifying rollercoaster of emotions where every chapter unleashes new horrors and the main characters strength is put to the test . This is a book that you won’t forget .

Postscript by Cecilia Ahern . Review

This is the terrific sequel to P. S I Love You where we originally met Holly and Gerry , now in this sequel we are back in Holly’s world again . It’s six years since the death of her beloved husband and life is going well for Holly , she is working , surrounded by people who love her and is now in a relationship with Gabriel , a sweet man with a heart of gold . When one day a woman mentions to Holly about a club she is in called the  “P.S I Love You Club “it sets in motion another path for Holly , but one that she is very reluctant to go on .

Well if you thought you could sob no more while reading P.S I Love You then get the tissues out in good time as this sequel was both heartwarming and more then a bit of a tear jerker . I loved these characters so much and the plot was so moving I got a lump in my throat many times while reading it . A beautiful and memorable story that you will think of again and again .

Craven House by Darcy Coates . Review

This is my first time reading anything by this author and I was very impressed by the writing . In this book we meet Daniel , he is poor , a hard worker , a decent human being and all round good guy , you are rooting for him from the start , unfortunately he lives with his creep of a cousin who upon closer inspection is just as much of an idiot as I first thought if not more so .

When he gets a mysterious letter from a stranger after a spat of hard luck it could be just what he needs to make a fresh start and he wisely takes that opportunity.

The setting for the story is Craven Manor and it’s surrounding land , the place is deeply unnerving as it has not had a resident living there or taking care of its grounds in many years . The manor itself is an imposing building and the grounds are largely overrun and in need of some serious hard work and Daniel is the person requested for the job .

I loved the mystery of this haunted place , who was his employer , why was his conditions of employment so rigid  , this all added lovey layers of unease and tension especially in the parts of the plot that took place at night there . If you enjoy. Good mystery then I would recommend this without a doubt.

Chocolate a la Murder by Kirsten Weiss . Review

This is book four of this “Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum “Mystery Series set in San Benedetto . The main character of the series is Maddie Kosloski , she is the owner of this unusual museum where this book centers around . In this book Maddie is getting prepared for the Wine and chocolate days in the town when her plans get a little sidetracked upon finding a very distressing chocolatey sight.

This was a very enjoyable story with a quirky museum filled with intriguing artifacts and a fascinating history ,the characters were likable and the plot was satisfying , after all , you can’t beat chocolate and a good mystery . Would I recommend this ... you bet !

Forget My Name by J.S Monroe . Review

This is one of those books that grab your attention at the very start , and because the plot is so good it becomes a “read in one go “ book . When a young woman gets off a plane , has lost her memory but shows up at a house in a small village exclaiming to be familiar with the house , the inhabitants quickly become alarmed and concerned , for the young woman and for their own safety . Throughout the reading of this I was constantly questioning the honesty of some of the characters , there was red herrings a plenty and as the characters and their history were so interesting it was an absolute joy to read . If you love a book that has you questioning almost everything then this is the perfect book for your inquisitive nature .

The Brighton Guesthouse Girls by Lesley Eames . Review

The Brighton Guesthouse Girls by Lesley Eames

The story set in Brighton centers around three young women , Thea , Daisy and Anna ,they come from very different families , each one having their own troubles when they happen to meet each other . Anna is pregnant and has left home and is in the midst of grief , Daisy is feeling a bit lost in life and Thea is left with a horrific shock after the death of a loved one . These three women become an unlikely trio , each one helping the other at their time of need and finding strength in numbers . I loved each of the ladies character stories , they were brave during adversity and I kept interested in the plot throughout so reading the book went super fast .

This was a heartwarming story with plenty of bad guys , inspiring women , and a very satisfying ending .  Go read this , it’s terrific . More please !

I received this book in exchange for review from the lovely people over at Netgalley and aria fiction .

 About the book

A saga of immense charm and warmth, with three characters you won't forget. Thea, Anna and Daisy forge an unbreakable friendship through adversity.

Thea's loathsome stepbrother is trying to trick her out of her inheritance of her parents' beautiful house in the seaside town of Brighton by means of a Will which Thea believes to be forged. He gives her three months in which to leave. Afterwards she will face destitution.

Anna is pregnant and grieving, her explorer fiancĂ© lost at sea. Her violent father drives her from the family home in the back streets of London's Bermondsey and her fiancĂ©'s upper-class relatives cruelly reject her.

Daisy is in search of independence, running from a man she doesn't want to marry.

Together the three girls set up Thea's home as a guest house and embark on a mission to outwit her stepbrother by proving his fraud. In a race against time, nothing will turn out to be quite as it seems.
