Kindle Book Haul

Hi guys I recently got some kindle books and I thought I would share them with you . I only bought a few of these as the rest were free on Amazon . There is also a review book included that I won from Penguin who had a giveaway on Goodreads. 

A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby is the book I won from Goodreads.

The Collected Works of A. J Fikry by Gabrielle Levin. This looks and sounds amazing . I love a book about books and bookish locations. 

After reading Goodnight Mr Tom I could not resist getting this other book by Michelle Magorian. Just Henry.

It Started With Paris by Cathy Kelly. Review

I am a big fan of Cathy Kelly's writing and this book reminded me of why I love her books so much. Cathy writes about characters very well, you can't help but feel for them and what they are going through and in this book with an upcoming wedding there are plenty of people who will be going to the wedding who's own lives are going through many ups and downs. My personal favourite character was Leila who was having love and family problems, my heart just went out to her! If you want a satisfying comfort read to curl up with then read "It Started With Paris".

Hi guys..it's easy to tell in my house that summer is well and truly gone as I am craving books and soup like you would not believe. I embrace the autumn ...snuggly clothes ,hot foods , long walks , seasonal book  reading  in bed when it is stormy and cold outside. The Zoo An Allegorical Adventure by Stephen Black. Review.

This is a novella about a grandfather who takes his grandson on a journey to a once thriving cosmopolitan city that is now a mass of rubble. This fall of a Zoo and it's inhabitants has a ripple effect that causes great harm to neighbouring areas causing mass destruction further afield. A moralistic tale that shows how quickly things can turn very bad and how the choices we make effects more then just ourselves. If you are a fan of Animal Farm or dystopian books then this book is likely to appeal to you, Interesting characters and a fun short read!

Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian.Review.

Never have I fallen for a book so fast!

I started reading this and thinking Wow, oh WOW!!!!! I got excited, I fell in love ! Oh these characters !! I cried for them, great big blubbering sobs that had me dropping tears over my much loved book.

This type of reaction just does not happen often. Okay there may be a slight glistening tear when I read sometimes but this was the type of book where you could hug your book and fall asleep with it tucked into the crook of your elbow and wake up with a book shaped dent on your face in the morning . I did not care that there was a lot of pages in the book, I dreaded finishing it ,each chapter so beautiful I did not want it to end . 

At the heart of the story is an unsociable old man and a shy fearful young boy who has to go and live with him during the war . Tom had a sad past and he was stuck in a rut and keeping himself to himself, along comes this young boy called William who is in a worse state then Tom emotionally and somehow their pairing becomes the best thing that could have ever happened to either of them. 

Read with a box of tissues and a big cup of tea. It's the most glorious comfort read! You will wish you had your very own Mister Tom.

No Time For Goodbye by Linwood Barclay . Review

I am a big fan of this author already and I was an even bigger fan after reading this. This is the story of a girl called Cynthia , the beginning of the story is told through her  eyes. After a night out  she woke to find her family gone . Fast forward many years later and the story is continued by her husband , and now the past is back to haunt them! This is one of those books that completely engulfs you until you get to the end and then you keep thinking about it after you have finished. If this is the  first book you have read by this author you are in for a treat , if you were already a fan then you won't be disappointed .An eerie ,thrilling ,adrenaline ride that's not to be missed!
