Favourite Spring Things!

                                                        Hello Spring!!!!!!Welcome back!

My garden has finally come alive after the very long bout of bad weather we have all had. It feels great to look out into the garden in the morning and see the bursts of colours all around my borders.
Pearls and Poison by Duffy Brown arrived to me today. I have been so excited to see what has been happening since we last left this series and these wonderful characters.
At the moment I am reading two books.Shunned and Dangerous by Laura Bradford and I am listening to A Real Bad Boy by Denise Swanson, both of which I am loving.
My favourite lunches lately have been this almost every day, yep soups!  It's still mighty cold out there and this is the best way I know of keeping the chills away.
Some movies I have been loving lately are as follows:

Just Go With It

March Powderpocket Beauty Box 2014

Its that time of the month again and Powderpocket are really treating us this month again!!!!!
Check out all the goodies that I found when I opened up this months box
A BB cream from Ginvera, I have tried this before and really enjoyed it.
Ghost Fragrance sample. I have the perfume of this and it is already a winner in my book. This will be handy to keep in my bag.
Shisedo is a luxury makeup brand. The packaging is really sleek and indulgent making this feel like a real treat and the neutral colour makes this a wearable shade for most skin types.
This is a sample of this peachy nude shade lipstick
Waterwipes make-up remover wipes .These will almost certainly be used up as I think every female knows how handy wipes are at removing make-up when we are too tired to get our cleansers and toners out before bed sometimes. These wipes feel very gentle on the skin.
lavera Hair and Body wash. This has a light scent that is really pleasant to use and does not contain a lot of nasty chemicals.
                                                       The PowderPocket magazine.

This was a lovely box and I can't wait to receive my April Powderpocket beauty box.

The Sound Of Sirens by David Carter.Review.

What a truly great book this was! The story is based around Inspector Walter Darriteau and Chester where he lives. The inspector is a hard worker and he does his best to keep the streets free of bad guys but unfortunately he comes across quite a few of them in his line of work. I don't know which I enjoyed more , the plot or the characters. they were both truly well written and very enjoyable.
What started off as a simple enough plot quickly got more intriguing and the pace really began to quicken leaving it very hard for me to put the book down. I was seriously impressed by this story and these characters, if you love a great crime story then this one will leave you very satisfied. It was an intricate plot told very well and I had  genuine moments of being totally gripped by the story, where if someone had spoken to me I would not have heard them....
As soon as I finished reading this I had to find out what else this author had written. I can't wait to read more about Inspector Darriteau !!!.  Go get this immediately!

I won this book on Goodreads and you can find it here :

The Inheritance by Tilly Bagshawe. Review.

I love Tilly's writing style and have read previous books by her, this book did not disappoint .
The story begins with a young woman losing her home and getting an inheritance that she is less then pleased about. Her whole life changes over night and it becomes up to her to change her life around.
There is a few unsavoury characters in the book but my favourite  was Angela, the loyal mother and wife , I enjoyed her storyline the most of all. Brett is Angela's husband and a character you will love to hate, he is SO bad, but his parts in the story were great fun to read, you would not want to be married to him ! This really was one of those books to set time aside for and indulge in some fab fiction with lots of thrills and surprises. I recommend reading this in one gulp! Loved it!

I received this book for review from Lovereading.co.uk.
This book is due to be published June 2014 and will be available for purchase at Lovereading.co.uk and all other good bookstores from that date.

Body Shop Haul

It has been a very long time since I was in The Body Shop but after receiving one of their products in my Powderpocket beauty box I wanted to try some of their products again. When I went in store I was helped by a very nice sales assistant who helped me pick out some products and recommend some things for my sensitive dry skin.
Before I go any further I should mention that if you sign up and pay a small fee that you can get 10% off  your total in store every time you go in. The day I was there , there was some more offers so if you are in store it is worth your while to ask staff what offers they currently have running.

The first product I picked up was the Moringa Shower Gel which is a floral scent that is great for the morning time.

The next item I picked was the Brazil Nut Shower Cream, this smells delicious!
Peppermint Reviving Leg Gel .This is a life saver after exercising .
Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask. I am hoping this will help hydate!
I love the Bosy Shop Body Butters. This is Brazil Nut and is smells and feels amazing. I like to use this after my bath when it has the entire night to sink in. Although if you put it on in the day time after your morning shower or bath you will smell sweet for the day.

Feeling Nostalgic I picked up White Must .This is the mist and brings me back to my teens and early twenties , I have some wonderful memories of times I wore this scent.
There was a promotion on in store when you spent a certain amount you received one of the purses below as well as the products underneath this picture.
Vitamin E cream, Honeymania Shower gel, Camomile eye make up remover, Eye liner. A real Treat!

A Ghostly Undertaking by Tonya Kappes. Review.

From the moment I saw this book I loved it! Lets start with the awesome cover.... Beautiful and magical!
The story is about a young woman called  Emma. Emma is a funeral director and is excellent at her job, there is just one other thing you should know about her and that is that she can also talk to dead people. As she works with dead people all the time that makes her job a whole lot more interesting!!
This was such a fun read that it was  impossible to put down once I started to read it. Emma is a great character, as is her grandmother and the most recently deceased Ruthie Sue Payne, there is plenty of humour throughout the book as well as a great mystery. Emma makes a great lead character !

I am a big fan of this author's books and I would highly recommend this book as a place to start if you are trying to figure out which book to read. I am hoping there is going to be a lot more books featuring this awesome funeral director Emma Lee Raines and her awesome grandmother!

Happy Accidents by Jane Lynch . Review.

This was a very enjoyable memoir from someone that I first heard about through the TV show Glee.
Jane has a great spirit and comes across as friendly , open, and full of life.
From younger years right up to current day we get a good inside look into this very talented actress's life and it full of adventures. Throughout the book we see pictures of her and her family and friends and it makes the book even more special. I love Jane as an actress, the humour she brings to her roles makes it impossible to watch her without cracking a very wide grin. Seeing the real woman in her book shows us the side to her we may not know as well. Thoroughly enjoyable and a must for anyone wanting to read about inspiring women in show business and the hard work it takes to get there.

Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill. Review.

What an eerie page turner this was. If you want to read a book that will make the little hairs on your arms stand up and will have you looking over your shoulder then this is the book for you.
From early on this book was giving me " the jumps" , any noise I heard while reading this had me jumping and feeling generally uncomfortable which is what you want if you are reading something a little creepy. That being said this is a lot creepy !!!!!
The main character of the story is called Judas Coyne and he is an old rock and roller who collects things that are less then pleasant.. I am just going to say it, they are down right gruesome !
His latest buy is going to cause him a lot more trouble then anyone could have foreseen .
What a truly good book this is, thrilling , eerie, menacing with just a hint of terror. Not for the faint hearted or younger readers!
This was a great book by a terrific author and I can't wait to read more by him.

Carry You by Beth Thomas. Review

This is one of those books that when you finish you let out a satisfied sigh and then go tell all your friends about it!
The story is about a young woman called Daisy who has recently lost someone very close to her and it has really turned her life upside down and inside out and she is very lost and really needs to find herself again but she is so consumed with loss that it takes a friend with a will of steal and heart full of love to get her back on the road to living again.
Daisy is very reluctant to go back into the world and so it takes a lot of badgering to get her up off the sofa and outside and meeting people. Her best friend Abi is a terrific friend and gets her literally on the road to recovery by getting her to train for the Moonwalk. I am not going to go into too much about that but I will leave a link below where you can find out more about this. It is a walk around London done at night for to raise money and support cancer research.
The walk is over 20 miles long and Daisy has to begin training straight away if  she is going to get through the walk on the day so with a little help from Abi , Daisy gets some walking buddies for her daily walks and things begin to get a lot brighter in her life once she gets out in the world again.
The story is touching and thought provoking as well as being incredibly inspiring. I could not get enough of this. The way Daisy's character developed was very enjoyable to read and there were a few surprises thrown in as well which I did not see coming.
I say go out and get this book straight away and then buy it for all your friends! Wonderful!
